TWELVE ATTRIBUTES OF A MASTERFUL ORGANIZATIONTM |
Masterful Organizations:
1. Provide time, space and resources for creative work, research and development and encourage all employees to participate, collaborate and contribute.
2. Place a high value on learning and general knowledge as well as "training" and core competencies.
3. Keep a constant eye on cycles of growth and change and look for ways to broaden the scope of the business by establishing partnerships which create new, value-added products and services.
4. Maintain an attitude of truthfulness, honesty and integrity and assume responsibility for the impact of their decisions, policies, procedures and behaviors.
5. Create and maintain a cooperative, collaborative, communicating, learning culture, support a "union of differences" and encourage personal and organizational growth, creativity, innovation, transformation and change.
6. Know the value of constant risk taking - trying something new - and support the people within the organization who have the most to lose from doing just that.
7. Create an atmosphere of safety and security within the organization through innovation and creativity, freeing organizational participants from the energy-draining fear of insecurity and job loss.
8. Appreciate, acknowledge and reward growth, mastery, accomplishment and contribution both inside and outside the organization with respect to employees and any and all participants in virtual partnership.
9. Understand "virtual space" and the morphic, boundaryless, global nature of business and business relationships.
10. Understand that chaos is the engine that drives change, partner with chaos in the flow of growth and transformation and constantly investigate and search for causal factors, thereby experiencing fewer and less severe crises.
11. Measure results in a variety of ways, learn from what works and transmute what doesn't.
12. Strive for synthesis, congruence and symbiosis in all individual and professional relationships, creations and transactions.
