IBSAILs lectures, workshops and training sessions are designed
to assist clients in becoming Masterful Organizations.
Masterful Organizations are comfortable with the ambiguity found in chaos and know
that chaos is generative and has within it the seeds of originality that are critically
necessary to sustain the life of the organization. Organizations that fear chaos and seek
to control all aspects of their operations, thereby becoming rigid and unavailable for new
knowledge, invite the crises and the ultimate demise that they strive so mightily to
avoid. Therefore, any organization wishing to become masterful and enduring must be
built upon a foundation based upon natural principles of growth and creation.
Interactive, participatory lectures, workshops and training programs produced by IBSAIL are designed to enhance the intellectual capital within the client organization. Each workshop/training session is tailored for a specific client, includes many different arenas, and incorporates some of the following:
Organizational collaborative
learning cultures are creative, communicative and constantly alive. Establishment of these
cultures results in greater collaborative
partnership, relationship, connection and community, all of
which increase profitability, promote more effective communication,
increase morale, create more
comprehensive product and service design, ease the inherent
difficulties of managing organizations and increase longevity, particularly during periods
of chaos and rapid change.
Strategic alliances in "virtual space" are
established with individuals and departments within the organization and with entities
outside of the organization, creating product and service innovation, increased efficiency
and customer satisfaction.
Instruction of the 7-stage process of chaos and creativity, inherent within cycles of growth and change in natural systems, enables
individuals and organizations to better understand their past and present and creates an
enhanced ability for them to architect potential futures with greater clarity, intention
and success.
Chaos, crisis, paradigm expansion and paradox¾ the distinctions and relationships¾ are examined, as they relate, specifically, to client organizational development
and evolution; partnering with chaos to avoid crisis
Discovery of what is really driving
the client's business at the causal level through an exploration and identification of deep cultural values and how they
relate to performance and industry.
Imagination and creativity of employees, as well as
core competencies, are fully employed; emerging, natural leadership is encouraged,
identified and supported.
Understanding the tremendous
difference between data, information, knowledge, understanding and wisdom. Information, particularly information overload, does not
necessarily create knowledge. Knowledge is morphic, subject to
change in any moment. This greatly enlarged ability of participants to re-image and to
move toward enhanced understanding, pattern recognition and wisdom, provides a process
orientation which allows individuals and organizations to access an expanded window
through which they are able to learn and grow. Thus, organizations acquire an ability to
move through vast amounts of information more efficiently and quickly and to have a
greater sense of "appropriate usefulness" of information. Workshop participants
are supported in becoming "mature learners." Mature learners are people
who have learned how to learn and who understand that in order to know, they must suspend
what they think they know in order to continue to substantively learn more.
Patterns of growth and change
through space and time in self-organizing natural systems are identified and
understood with respect to their power, importance, and application to the client
organization
Communications technology and the use of the
"information highway" are explored in the context of learning environments and knowledge cultures
"Mature learners understand the paradox that, in order to know, they must suspend what they think they know in honor of what they might learn. They are able to hold a hypothesis, explore new territory and entertain new ideas without immediate and constant judgment. They are able to feel ambivalent and ambiguous without becoming frightened and angry. And, they have the intelligence, courage and grace to try something new, appreciate and build on favorable outcomes, and celebrate the new knowledge generated by what they once referred to as failures and mistakes."
